The city of Ciudad Quesada was founded by a Spanish developer in 1972. He had the vision to build upon some prime land to enable it to become a recognisable town in its own right. Which it did in 1999 much to the expectation of the residents who live and work there.
Even though this town is relatively new it has already earmarked itself as a popular resort to visit. The town’s major attractions are its Aqua Park and its golf. The Aqua Park has four gentle water slides and two of more challenging nature. Three children’s pools, a large swimming pool and facilities such as a restaurant, cafeteria and picnic areas are also provided.
If you want to take in the beach then you will have visit nearby resorts such as Guardamar del Segura, La Mata and Torrevieja. These beaches will also provide coastal water sports. Visits to the old town of Rojales will be ideal for the hiker or mountain biker. The average annual temperatures for the area surrounding Ciudad Quesada are a minimum of 11°C in the coldest of winter and 27°C for the warmest of summer. Torrevieja is another place to visit if you want to take in the natural wildlife of the saltlakes.
The beautiful thing about a town that is newly created is its creativeness in building upon traditional techniques and inviting the new. The town has restaurants that serve local food but also it offers food from many different nationalities such as Thai, Japanese, German, French and British. Some of these restaurants fuse the flavours to give us both Europe and Asia in one bite.
The nearest airports are Alicante and Murcia about 30 miles away. Alicante has more flights that come to and fro from other European destinations. However, both are well provided with transfer options. Shuttle services, taxis and car hire can be arranged from either and can be arranged at the time of booking.
